Sunset Retreats Senior Living has truly helped me regain my health and independence. When I first moved in, I could barely walk and relied on an assistive device. Today, I can walk long distances on my own and even dress myself—thanks to the encouragement, care, and support from the staff.
The healthy, nutritious meals and daily walks have made a big difference in my strength and overall well-being. I used to struggle with unhealthy eating habits, but Sunset Retreats focuses on balanced meals and snacks that are perfect for my needs.
The staff keeps residents active and engaged with plenty of activities. We go out into the community for activities, shopping, church for those who are interested, and relaxing strolls around downtown Palm Springs. There are also games and activities in the house, so there’s always something to do. I enjoy watching all kinds of sports on TV and also like having the option to watch TV in my own bedroom.
I have also really enjoyed celebrating holidays at Sunset Retreats. They prepare traditional American meals for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, which makes the holidays feel special and meaningful. I now look forward to many more holidays and celebrations with my new family.
From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The staff is kind, friendly, and always supportive. The home is clean, modern, and located in a safe, gated community. The owner, Letiwe—who I affectionately call “Letty”—is wonderful and truly cares about my comfort and happiness.
Since I don’t have family nearby, the staff has become my family. I can’t recommend Sunset Retreats enough—it’s one of the best homes I’ve ever lived in.

I am so grateful to have been encouraged to check out a new Care Home, Sunset Retreats in Indio, California for my cousin who needs both personalized care and a safe home like environment. It is not easy to find the right Care Home for a family member, but after looking for months and trying different places, for me and my cousin Letiwe's Sunset Retreats stands out like a shining star among Care Homes. Letiwe, The Administrator of Sunset Retreats, has created a beautiful Care Home and lovely tranquil uplifting environment where my cousin immediately felt comfortable, well-cared for and "at home".
Letiwe provides my cousin with a diabetes-friendly fresh home-cooked diet which is helping keep his diabetes under better control, she takes him on walks in the neighborhood, has taken him to the Church of his choice, to Doctor Appointments, and to the Senior Center once a week to play Bingo and get out into the community. Letiwe has also advocated for my cousin to get in-home physical therapy.
The smile on my cousin's face in the photos taken with Letiwe and her family celebrating Thanksgiving Dinner at Sunset Retreats says it all to me. He is happy and feels "at home", and he has been steadily regaining his health at Sunset Retreats. And I as my cousin's former caregiver can know my cousin is being very well cared for at Sunset Retreats.
